REGISTRATION COST:

$85 for Flag Football Registration and $50 for Flag Volunteer Fee**
(Fundraising & Volunteer Fee Reimbursement available) 

Flag Payment Options:
 

  1. Pay in full or 

Choose payment plan. Pay flag fees in two (2) payments. Half due on the day of registration & the final payment due the following month. Final payment transaction will be automatically deducted on the 1st of the month  

**Note: there is a processing fee per payment transaction

 

Flag REGISTRATION DEADLINES:

  • Flag Registration for 3/4 grade closes on July 14th
     
  • Flag Registration for K-2nd grade closes on August 12th


PRACTICES:

Flag Season: August to October 

Flag Teams: Kinder, 1st/2nd grade, and 3rd/4th grade. Each player will be notified of team placement by their Head Coach prior to practices beginning

Practice Days: may be two to three times per week, 1 to 1 1/2 hours, will be determined by the coach

Practice Times: around/between 5pm-8pm 

Practice Location: Evergreen Middle School Fields (behind school building next to the tennis courts)

*Days/Times are general. Specifics will be posted/emailed once finalized and vary by season and coach. 


GAMES:

Game Days: Saturdays

Game Length: 40 minutes with a running clock, two 20-minute halves and a 5-minute half time

Game Time: around/between 8am-12pm, with possibly one evening game to experience playing "Under the Lights"

Game Home Location: Hare Field on Grant Street

Schedules: will be finalized in August and uploaded into our calendar on Sports Engine

First Flag Game: will be on Saturday 9/21/23

Game Officials: Glencoe Youth Football coaching staff will be in charge of officiating flag games


what to expect on game day

  • 3-4 games will be run at the same time on the field.
  • Plan to arrive early to find parking and look at the field map to know which field you're team is playing on.
  • Arrive at the field at least 15 minutes prior for warmups & gear up.
  • Players should arrive with: their jersey tucked in, game shorts, cleats on (no metal cleats), mouthguard, & a water bottle.
  • Players are required to have a mouthguard or they will NOT be allowed to play.
  • Players may wear gloves, elbow pads, knee pads.
  • Games will be across the field, 50 yards long by 20 yards wide without endzones.
  • The clock does not stop for any reason. Therefore, the entire game will take forty-five (45) minutes.
  • Fields will be marked by colored cones.
  • Each team has 4 downs to get a 1st down. 
  • Teams may substitute freely.
  • No intentional contact.
  • Spectators may set up no less than three (3) yards back from out of bounds lines.
  • There are only two (2) field passes per team allowed for a volunteer to take pictures at the turf fields and/or help manage the team.
