YOUTH TACKLE CAMP

CAMP TIME 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

PLAYER CHECK-IN TIME @ 5:15 PM

Why do we have camp?

This season our Youth Tackle Camp will be on August 7th-11th at Hare Field, from Monday-Friday evening at 5:30 to 8:00pm. Tackle players are required to accumulate a minimum of ten (10) conditioning hours (does not include water breaks) before they can practice in full pads.

what CAN I expect at Camp?

Players will need to arrive early to check in before camp begins.
Check in time will begin at 5:15pm. We will have check in tables set up by grade levels.

Once players are verified & checked in, they will receive their free camp swag! We will have camp t-shirts for every registered GYF player! We will distribute t-shirt sizes according to their registration sign up.

Players can hang out on the field before we start warmups. Please make sure they are dressed properly with the summer heat & hydrating throughout the day before camp begins. We will have a refill water station on the field during camp.

Parents once you have checked in your child, you are more than welcome to stay and spectate from the bleachers section or feel free to leave and come back later. Please make sure you arrive before camp dismissal at 8:00pm each day to pick up you child.

what should my child bring to camp?

Players should be dressed properly for the expected summer heat, cleats (No Metal Cleats, as we will be on turf field) & a water bottle. **Optional but not required, they can bring gloves for their position.

who runs the camp?

You may see some familiar faces this summer. Our Youth Tackle Camp is hosted by our Glencoe High School Football Team & lead by our Varsity Head Coach, Ian Reynoso.

Camp first begins with warmups lead by our GHS Football Team. Followed by a quick camp introduction with Coach Reynoso to go over camp expectations & our goals for the day.

We will have demonstrations and verbal instructions throughout the camp on how to perform tasks and drills for all players; whether you're new to playing tackle or a seasoned player and need a refresher.

Then we'll break into groups by grade levels to work on position drills: 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th graders.

GYF Youth Camp is also about having FUN! We'll have some friendly competition & challenges each day. This is a camp games are a  favorite every year!!

What Team will my child be on?

Once registration closes we are able to determine how many teams we can make while following TVYFL drafting rules & requirements. Depending on the number of registered tackle players we have, will determined how many teams we are able to make for the season.

GYF does not hold tryouts. If there are more than one team needed at a particular level, the Head Coaches will then participate in a selection process (a "draft") designed to create teams of equal experience, size, and skill levels. This "draft" will only be necessary if we have two teams per blended grade level.

After camp you will be notified by your head coach what team you've been placed on.
